{((Sinister Thoughts))}i{((Part 1))}

[Well, I've been working on this novel for a little while. The sections I post will vary in length so... enjoy! And leave a comment, please.]

-----------------------------------------

The house was empty when she got home from work, though it didn’t bother her. Her mother had an early case of Alzheimer’s disease, and she had to live in a nursing home. Her father spent almost all day at work and spent the night drinking the money off. But besides that she had a pretty good life, she had enough money to last her at least through college because her mother used to be one of the most successful brain surgeons. That’s why no one believed it when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Suddenly, the shrill ring of the home phone rang through the still air. After jumping slightly, she picked up the phone.

“Hey Sinister! Just thought you might be lonely!” the person on the other side of the line said.

“Billie,” Sinister said to the other girl, “what do you want?”

“What?! Are you not excited that I called you?!” Billie said in a mock-hurt voice.

Sinister could easily imagine Billie sitting on her bed with her hand placed melodramatically over her heart as she said that.

“You know I love you Billie, but you do know that you just dropped me off at my house about ten minutes ago?” Sinister asked in response.

“Yes, I know that Sin.”

“Then why are you calling me?”

“Can I not simply call my bestest friend to talk about utter nonsense?!” Billie said, her mock-hurt voice had returned.

“You just don’t want to do your homework, don’t you?”

“Yeah, pretty much…” she said bluntly.

Sin and Billie talked the rest of the night, about everything. They always did that, nearly everyday, that’s how great of friends they were. Billie and Sinister had gone to the same school for all their life and they had always been the only punks. But later in the middle school they made friends with Charrette and Reesa [Clarissa]. And together they made a little group, since they were the only punks in a school of people who hated them.

“… tested and secure…” M. Shadows sang with roaring instruments.

“Mmm… I love this song…” Sinister mumbled still slightly asleep.

She sleepily hit the sleep button on her alarm clock, but the song continued.

“Shit!” Sin shouted as she fell off the side of her bed, with a loud grunt.

Coincidentally, her cell phone was under her bed. She flipped it open and ‘Unholy Confessions’ by Avenged Sevenfold stopped playing.

“Hello?” she said exasperatedly as she turned over onto her back, still on the floor.

“Hey! Just wanted to give you a wake up call!” three voices shouted out of the phone.

“I hate you guys,” Sin said, still tired from being woken up.

“Aw, you know ya love us, Sin!” Reesa said.

How can she be this hyper, this early?! It’s Saturday, I’m supposed to be able to get some sleep!’ Sin thought, sighing to herself.

“Well, my bother told me about this party at some kid from school’s house. There’s supposed to be some kick-ass band playing…” Charrette said, including the band part at the last minute.

They know me better than I know myself,’ Sinister thought, laughing to herself.

Sin was obsessed with music, but she preferred rock.

“Hm… I guess I’ll come along,” Sinister said after thinking for a bit.

“Yay!” the other three cheered.

“Can we get ready at your house Charrette?” Sin heard Billie ask Charrette.

“Yeah sure, but I’m not taking the same car as my brother.” Charr said.

“I’ll drive us, but when should I come over?” Sinister replied.

“You can come over now and we can go eat breakfast!” Reesa said, she was always hyper in the morning.

“Yeah, I’ll be over in a few minutes…” Sinister said with a sigh, she was still tired.

She lifted her head and glanced over at the alarm clock on her bedside table. Neon red numbers flashed eight o’ clock.

Okay, so maybe it isn’t THAT early… but it’s still too early for me. Especially on a Saturday!’ she thought to herself.

Dig a piece of clothing out of the HUGE closet, which was less then half full, slip it on slowly, and repeat. That was the assembly line for Sinister’s outfit. At the end, Sin ended up with an outfit of about five articles of clothing, not including her bra and underwear. Her jeans were so old they had large holes at the knees and had faded from a dark night sky navy to a light stonewashed color. Sinister’s shirt was a loose-fitted Avenged Sevenfold ‘City Of Evil’ band tee. Her shoes, which were black-and-white checkered slip on Vans, were also worn down a bit. Knee-high red and black striped socks were hidden under her jeans. And last of all, she slipped on her rather large black My Chemical Romance zip-up hoodie, which read REVENGE on the front in red letters.

“Ready…” Sinister said to herself as she let out a last yawn.
